Sonar Record Store is an independent record shop located in the heart of Wrzeszcz, deeply connected to the underground music scene. It’s more than just a store — it’s a space that actively contributes to the spread of music culture and goes beyond the boundaries of a typical retail experience.

Our core mission is to showcase niche and independent music from around the world, often overlooked by major retailers, while continuously expanding musical awareness among listeners. Our catalogue includes several thousand titles.

Supporting the Local Scene

One of our key priorities is the support and promotion of the local independent scene.

We host a concert series called Sonar REC Session, featuring primarily local artists. These live sessions are fully produced and funded in-house, and made available free of charge on YouTube.

A Destination for Music Lovers

Sonar has become an important stop for international music-focused visitors, naturally evolving into a platform that promotes artists from the Tricity (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot).

We also organize album listening sessions, where visitors can experience new releases in a more organic way and meet the artists behind them.

Since 2025, Sonar has also operated as an independent label — Sonar Records.

What started as a place for vinyl lovers to browse and listen has grown into a creative platform supporting and releasing independent artists across genres — from jazz and electronic to rock and beyond.

Our catalogue is thoughtfully organized into categories to make discovery easier, but one principle always comes first:
good music and real support for independent artists.
